This lamp is made out of metal and seems very well made. While it's easy to move from table to desk or anywhere around the house, it has some weight to it. This seems to work as well as the lamps used in the office where I had red light therapy by a professional. I like this because it is easy to set up and use and it came with eye protection. Plus, it's works! It is soothing and helps me with achy joints, in particular, with my hands right now.
